Consistent pulp level and froth overflow is two of the most important aspects contributing to higher recoveries. The more consistent the froth overflow, the higher the recoveries. Most flotation cells only have pulp level and air flow control. The problem is both the pulp level and air flow can be on setpoint, but this alone does not guarantee the required constant mass flow for each cell. The solution to this is FloaTrax®. This is revolutionary, nothing else like this exist on the market. Where other applications use CCTV cameras and analyse the data in a 3rd party server to give froth velocity and other values the intelligence for this is built into the FloaTrax® instrument. No extra servers or software is required. Froth speed and froth overflow level are calculated inside the instrument and is available as two 4 to 20Ma outputs, or as values over a network directly to your PLC. These results are then used in the PLC to accurately maintain a stable and consistent froth overflow on each cell it is installed on. (Results from any controls including APC is limited to your plant conditions. Stable flow to your float cells remains a top priority.)

Together with the SGLevelTrax® used to measure density in float cells real time mass flow on each cell can be calculated. The mass flow result can then be used to set the froth speed set point.
